The Chippewa Valley Cooperative Hospital has reopened a critical lifeline with its new Cancer Center, now welcoming patients in the transformed space of the former St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls.
This center fills a major gap after Hospital Sisters Health Systems closed in March 2024, leaving hundreds without local cancer care and forcing many to travel far for treatment.
The Cancer Center began patient intake in mid-October and launched medical oncology services by early November, restoring essential care access across the region.
Comprehensive offerings include infusion therapy, an on-site specialty pharmacy, advanced laboratory services, and dedicated support programs for patients.
Extensive renovations created modern infusion bays and procedure rooms, fostering an environment of healing and comfort.
Plans for radiation therapy and full inpatient services, including emergency and surgical care, are underway, with a full launch expected by summer 2026.
